SUBLET MY PRACTICE (craig's list post, 2011)
Artist and curator seeks temporary sublet for his practice while away next week (Tuesday to Thursday).
Duties include:
~ Posting (irl), documenting and posting (url) one artwork on Western Pole
~ 1 or 2 memes (sometimes these come in spurts, so maybe a few more if you're feeling it)
~ 8 - 10 drawings (materials provided)
~ the middles of a poem
~ sketch out a few ideas for the film that keeps staying out of focus
~ ship out some merch (a little late — oops! please write an apology letter and throw in some extra art)
~ research (lol you can just watch tv or read or walk around and because it's all make believe — you can write this off)
~ boring admin (fill out some forms and do some emails; you think you can get away with not doing this but eventually people [the gas company, the magazine, the species, etc.] seem "over it" and the it is you)
~ interview an artist for the radio (this one's really fun — you can just make radio from your computer now)
~ scheme these next few moves (more info upon selection! top secret! — you may also be responsible for crafting an NDA; see above "admin")
~ the studio is a mess, so self-starter organized types to the front of the line please!
~ go to a screening or see a few exhibitions or a performance (you'll have to wear a me costume but it's a pretty easy one)
~
YOU WILL NOT HAVE TO TALK ABOUT NTFS! NO ANNOYING COLLECTORS! LOTS OF COOL THINGS TO LOOK AT AND LISTEN TO! RICH INTERIOR LIFE! AN ENGAGED COMMUNITY AND A LIFE CENTERED ON THE POSSIBLE.
compensation (i.e. level of exposure) commensurate with experience
compensation: whatever merch you'd like, a drawing or two — you can have what you want, really
